Clear pricing and flexible ways to pay: making weight management more accessible at Aster
This article discusses the dispensing costs of prescription-only medicines. Prescription-only medicines are only available via an Aster prescription with us, and we’re committed to providing clear, transparent pricing and service information.
Private weight management should feel clear, supportive and clinically responsible from the very first step.
At Aster, we know that cost can be one of the things people think about when considering private weight management care. We also know that healthcare decisions should never be rushed, pressured or driven by discounts.
That is why we aim to make our pricing as clear as possible, while offering a range of secure and flexible ways to pay at checkout.
Why payment transparency matters
Starting a private healthcare service is a personal decision. Before you commit, you should understand what you are paying for, what happens next, and what safeguards are in place.
Aster does not use first-month offers, subscription traps or urgency-based pricing to encourage people to start treatment. We believe that responsible weight management care should be based on clinical suitability, not sales tactics.
Our role is to make access easier where care is appropriate, not to make prescription treatment feel like an online impulse purchase.
What payment options are available?
Aster payments are processed securely through Stripe. At checkout, patients may see a range of available payment methods, including:
Visa
Mastercard
Apple Pay
Google Pay
Link
Klarna, where available
The exact options available may depend on the payment provider, device, eligibility checks and the checkout route used.
Klarna at Aster
Klarna may be available as a payment option at checkout.
We include Klarna because some patients prefer more flexibility in how they manage private healthcare costs. However, Klarna is not used to encourage people to start treatment, and payment flexibility does not affect clinical decision-making.
A prescription is never guaranteed. Treatment will only be provided where one of our clinicians is satisfied that it is safe and clinically appropriate.
Patients should only use payment options that are suitable for their own financial circumstances. Klarna availability is subject to Klarna’s own terms, eligibility checks and approval.
Payment does not guarantee treatment
Aster is a clinical service, not a retail checkout for medicines.
Completing payment or choosing a payment method does not mean treatment has been approved. Orders still require clinical review, and we may decide not to proceed if treatment is not suitable, if information is incomplete, if there are safety concerns, or if the service cannot be provided appropriately.
If treatment cannot proceed after payment has been taken, any refund due will be handled in line with our terms and conditions.
No subscription trap
Aster is designed to avoid the pressure that can come with subscription-based healthcare models.
We do not want patients to feel locked into a service that is no longer right for them. Where ongoing care is appropriate, each stage should be clear, clinically reviewed and based on the patient’s current needs.
This means:
no first-month bait pricing
no hidden subscription trap
no pressure to continue if Aster is not right for you
no payment method that overrides clinical judgement
Accessibility should not mean pressure
For us, accessibility means more than simply offering different ways to pay. It means:
clear pricing
secure checkout
being able to ask questions
regular access to clinicians
being told no when treatment is not safe or appropriate
understanding the cost before you commit
Private weight management options should be easier to access, without pressure.
Our approach
Aster was built to improve online weight management care with proper clinical oversight, clear communication and transparent pricing.
Our payment options are part of that commitment. They are there to support access and convenience, not to pressure anyone into treatment.
If you are considering Aster, you can check your eligibility and review the information available before deciding whether to continue. All consultations are completely free of charge, always. So if you are eligible for treatment, you can complete your first consultation with no commitment to begin or continue treatment.
Treatment is only provided where clinically appropriate.
