Wegovy Tablets Available from Early July at Aster

This image is for decorative purposes only. Prescribed medicine packaging will differ. Prescription Only Medicines are a legal category of medicine in the UK and in line with legal guidance and regulations, any medicines are only supplied following thorough clinical consultation.

Wegovy tablets are expected to be available through Aster from early July 2026, giving eligible patients a new oral option for weight management treatment.

Until now, Wegovy has been widely known as a once-weekly injection. The new tablet version contains semaglutide and is taken once daily, offering another option for people who may be clinically suitable for treatment but would prefer not to use an injectable medicine.

At Aster, we are preparing to offer Wegovy tablets as soon as stock becomes available. You can join our waitlist to be notified when supply is confirmed, or you can get started with your assessment now so that, if treatment is suitable, we can process your prescription as soon as stock is available.

Start your assessment now, or join the waitlist

If you are interested in Wegovy tablets, you do not need to wait until stock is physically available to begin the process.

You can complete your Aster assessment now. Our clinical team will review your suitability, including your BMI, medical history, current medicines, previous weight management treatment and any relevant health conditions. If it’s clinically safe for you to use medicinal weight loss, you will be invited to book a free consultation with us.

If a clinician determines during the consultation that Wegovy tablets are suitable for you, we will process your prescription as soon as stock is available.

You can also join the waitlist if you simply want to be notified when Wegovy tablets are ready to order.

Why choose Aster?

Aster provides private online weight management care with clinical review, prescribing where appropriate, and ongoing support throughout treatment.

Our service is designed to be clear, safe and supportive from the beginning. We do not believe in pushing patients into treatment quickly, and we do not use pressure-based pricing models.

That means:

  • no first-month discount traps;

  • no subscription contracts;

  • no confusing ‘introductory’ pricing;

  • no automatic treatment pressure;

  • no prescribing without clinical review.

We believe weight management treatment should be safe, transparent and clinically appropriate. You should understand what you are paying for, what treatment involves, and what happens next.

Aster Wegovy tablets: dispensing pricing

At Aster, you only pay for the dispensing of your medicine. Consultations, clinical services, delivery and use of our platform is completely free.

Our current Wegovy tablet dispensing prices are:

Wegovy tablet strength (dispensing fee subject to consultation) Quantity Price
1.5mg tablets 30 tablets £150
4mg tablets 30 tablets £165
9mg tablets 30 tablets £174
25mg tablets 30 tablets £224

Prices are subject to stock availability and clinical suitability. Wegovy tablets are prescription-only, so they can only be supplied after a consultation, review and approval by a prescribing clinician.

What are Wegovy tablets?

Wegovy tablets are a prescription-only weight management medicine containing semaglutide. Semaglutide belongs to a group of medicines called GLP-1 receptor agonists.

These medicines are used alongside lifestyle changes, including diet, physical activity and ongoing support. They are not suitable for everyone, and treatment must be reviewed carefully before prescribing.

The tablet version may be a helpful option for people who are eligible for treatment but prefer an oral medicine rather than an injection.

Who may be able to use Wegovy tablets?

Wegovy tablets may be considered for adults living with obesity, or adults who are overweight and have weight-related health risks, depending on individual clinical assessment.

At Aster, every patient is reviewed individually. We look at your medical history, current medicines, BMI, treatment goals and any potential safety concerns before deciding whether treatment is appropriate.

A prescription is not guaranteed. If treatment is not suitable for you, we will explain why and advise on safer next steps where appropriate.

Can I switch from injections to tablets?

Some patients may be interested in switching from injectable weight management treatment to Wegovy tablets.

This needs to be reviewed on an individual basis. Your current medicine, dose, side effects, response to treatment, medical history and tablet availability all matter.

You should not stop, restart or switch weight management medicines without clinical advice.

If you’re a current or prospective Aster patient using injectables and you would like to switch to oral tablets, book an appointment through your client portal, or email us at hello@we-are-aster.co.uk.

How to get started

If you would like to be considered for Wegovy tablets through Aster, you can either:

  1. join the waitlist to be notified when stock is available; or

  2. start your assessment now, so that we can review your suitability in advance.

If treatment is clinically appropriate, your prescription will be processed as soon as Wegovy tablet stock becomes available.

Aster offers private online weight management care with clear pricing, clinical review and ongoing support — without first-month offers, subscription pressure or misleading pricing. We aim to keep weight management medicines affordable, while offering clear support which other leading brands do not.
