6 steps to expect when starting an online weight management programme

 

Starting any new medicine can be an anxious experience. Add into the mix that you’re doing it online, the medicine is injectable, and you’ll be making lots of lifestyle changes as well: it’s normal to feel out of your depth.

At Aster our team have extensive experience providing weight management support and prescribing, and we’ve broken down step-by-step what you can expect from a service like ours:


1) We’ll want to see you on video call

We do this so we can be sure:

  • It’s you doing the consultation, not someone on your behalf

  • You can see us and ask us questions in real time

  • We can show you how to use your medicine

At Aster, we also offer video consultations on demand, completely for free. We do this so you can speak to a member of our team when you need to, without the worry of an expensive consultation fee.

2) Your medicine will arrive from another pharmacy

Your medicine is dispensed by the wonderful team at Signature Pharmacy. That’s why any communications about your prescription or delivery might mention them. This is because they can offer more efficient delivery for you - ensuring you get the best service from us!

3) The pharmacy will get in touch to make sure you’ll be in for delivery

Certain medicines, including prescription medicines, refrigerated medicines or injectables are typically delivered as a signed delivery, meaning someone needs to be home to receive it.

To make sure this is the case, the pharmacy will get in touch with you to ensure you are home on the day they deliver!

4) There are no subscriptions

At the moment, we aren’t offering subscriptions. This is to make sure you’re happy with each prescription and price (you can check our current pricing here) and you can stay on top of your treatment yourself.

5) We’ll get in touch every month

Each month, we’ll have you complete a check-in questionnaire. If anything isn’t quite right, or you want some further reassurance, we’ll book you a video consultation. After each questionnaire a prescriber reviews your progress and will send you a proposed treatment plan for the next 4 weeks.

6) We’ll send you tips and tricks

We’ve been offering weight management support for a long time, and we know what it’s like when you’re experiencing difficulty making changes in your life. So, every so often we’ll send you some tips and tricks to try each day so you can make strong, healthy progress with your weight management journey.
